Gone hiking

Over the July 4th holiday weekend, Michelle and I joined two friends for some day hiking at Hanging Rock State Park. The weather was unusually cool for this time of year as we arrived at the park but we were able to squeeze in a couple hours of hiking before the cloudy, foggy skies turned to rain showers.

We started with a short, slightly strenuous hike to some small waterfalls before taking the 1.3 mile walk to the top of Hanging Rock. Once we were there, the views were beautiful and the weather made it seem as though we were in the clouds.

Our return trip went much faster and we got down from the mountain to our car just as the rain picked up. It was definitely a good workout that was well needed after the feasting on July 4th.
